Next to the internal Sciensano expertise the service illicit drugs can count on the experience and expertise of several national, regional and local authorities, institutions, and individual experts.
Considering the responsibilities with regard to health policy in Belgium are divided between the communities, cooperation with our 4 partner organisations is a must:
Observatoire socio-épidémiologique Alcool-Drogues in the French Community

Vereniging voor Alcohol- en andere Drugproblemen vzw in the Flemish Community

The Sozial-Psychologisches Zentrum in the German Community

Overlegplatform Geestelijke Gezondheid in the Brussels-Capital Region
These regional partners guarantees the assembly of information in their respective community or region. The service illicit drugs clusters all drug-related information in order to reach a national overview. This demonstrates that coordination and cooperation are vital for monitoring the illegal drugs phenomenon in Belgium.
Besides these regional partners, the service illicit drugs counts also on the cooperation of innumerable other national, regional and local authorities and institutions such as government services, hospitals, toxicological, forensic and judicial laboratories, universities, treatment centres, etc.
